Your information, explained

Privacy policy

Your finances are personal. Here’s what Perri stores, why it’s needed, and the choices you have.

Your data, with a clearer picture.

Your iPhone stores your finance records, with iCloud for ongoing finance and attachment sync. Supabase supports sign-in, profiles, and household access. Shared household records are visible to authorized members. Perri does not sell your personal information.

About this policy

This policy explains how Perri handles information when you use the Perri iPhone app and getperri.app. It covers the information you enter, the services that help the app work, and your choices.

For privacy questions or requests about your information, use the contact details on our Support page.

Information you provide

Perri uses information you provide to organize your personal and household finances:

  • Account and profile details: your profile name, avatar preferences, account identifiers, and the email address Apple provides, which may be a private relay address. Sign in with Apple provides authentication information that Supabase uses to establish your Perri account and session.
  • Financial records: accounts, balances, expenses, income, bills, installments, savings, categories, notes, and recorded payments or settlements.
  • Files you choose: receipts, warranty images, statement documents, and information extracted from those documents.
  • Household information: household names and currency settings, membership, roles, invitations and invitee email addresses, join requests, shared records, and who owes what.
  • Support messages: your contact details and the information you choose to include when asking for help.

Perri does not need your online banking password to track your finances. Recording a transaction does not connect to your bank or move money.

Storage and sync

On iPhone, Perri saves financial records and attached files on your device. It uses Apple’s iCloud and CloudKit services to sync supported data and restore it on your devices. Sync depends on your Apple Account, connectivity, available iCloud storage, and the app’s sync state.

Supabase supports Perri sign-in, account and profile information, household membership and invitations, and supporting services such as reference catalogs and feature availability. Account and household information is stored in Supabase; iCloud handles ongoing iPhone finance-record and attachment sync.

For an existing account with records from an earlier version, Perri may retrieve those records from Supabase during a one-time import to the local iPhone store. Earlier server-held data is not automatically erased by switching to iCloud sync. Contact support for questions about these records or a deletion request.

Service providers may process information outside your country. Their infrastructure, security measures, and applicable privacy terms also govern their handling of that information.

How information is used

Perri processes information to authenticate your Perri account, save and display your records, calculate summaries, sync data, manage household access, and respond to support requests. Where available, purchase information helps determine access to paid features.

Depending on applicable law, the basis for processing includes providing the service you request, your consent for optional features, maintaining service security, and meeting legal obligations.

Perri does not sell your personal information or use your financial records for targeted advertising. The iPhone app does not include advertising tracking.

Households and service providers

Information you add to a shared household may be available to other authorized members. A personal account filter changes your view; it does not make shared household records private. Only add information you have permission to share.

Apple provides Sign in with Apple, iCloud storage and sync, household sharing through CloudKit, and App Store purchases. Apple processes information needed for these services under its applicable privacy terms.

Supabase provides account authentication and supporting account and household services. It processes the account, profile, membership, and invitation information described above, authentication tokens, and connection information needed to operate and secure those services. These services support app functionality, not advertising. Supabase processes this information on Perri’s behalf under its data processing terms. This policy describes how Perri uses that information.

When you use the currency conversion tool, Perri requests exchange rates from Frankfurter. That request includes currency codes and ordinary connection information; it does not require your financial records.

We may disclose information when required by law or when necessary to investigate abuse and protect people or the service. Exports, screenshots, and files you share outside Perri are under your control and the recipient’s control.

Documents and device permissions

Statement text extraction and supported AI analysis run on your iPhone. The optional analysis model is obtained separately through Hugging Face; visiting that service is subject to its own terms. Perri does not send statement content to a remote AI service for this analysis. A saved statement and imported records can still sync through iCloud.

If you choose to remember a statement password, Perri stores it using the device Keychain. You can choose not to save it.

Perri requests camera, photo, or file access when you use features that need them. Notifications are optional. You can change permissions in iPhone Settings. Face ID or Touch ID checks use Apple’s device authentication; Perri does not receive your biometric data.

Website and technical information

When you visit getperri.app, the hosting service receives connection details such as your IP address, requested page, browser information, and request time. These details support page delivery, troubleshooting, and security.

The website may store a display preference in your browser. It does not ask you to upload financial records or connect a bank account. Links to other websites are subject to those sites’ privacy policies.

Your choices and deletion

You can review and edit your records in Perri. The account deletion screen includes an option to export your finance data; save attachments separately if you need copies.

To begin deletion, open Perri’s Settings → Account → Delete account and review the confirmation. When the deletion flow completes, it removes your Perri sign-in account from Supabase, the current device’s local copy, and your private iCloud copy. Shared-household records may remain available to other members. Contact support about information retained in shared records or if deletion cannot complete. Deleting your Perri account does not delete your Apple Account.

Removing the app does not, by itself, delete your account or cloud records. Copies already exported or saved by other people may remain. Backups and information needed for security or legal obligations may be retained beyond deletion for those purposes.

We keep account information while it is needed to provide the service, and support correspondence while needed to handle your request and related obligations. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your information, withdraw consent, or complain to a privacy authority. Contact support to make a request; we may need to verify your identity.

Children and policy updates

Perri is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact support so we can investigate.

This policy may change as Perri develops. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. For material changes, we will give additional notice where required.
